The Aberdeen Scoobies Santa Cruise was created in 2007 by Craig McLennan, taking it's inspiration from our counterparts and fellow members of the SIDC in Strathclyde.
The aim of the Santa Cruise is to bring some fun and cheer at Christmas to the children unfortunate enough to be in Hospital during the festive period.
Over the course of 2007 various events were held and the money raised from those, along with proceeds from the sale of Calendars and Merchandise was used to buy goods ranging from Portable DVD Players, TV/DVD Combi's, Games Consoles, DVD's, CD's, to various Toys and Games. Members cars were then decorated in Tinsel and Lights before a convoy led by Santa Claus made it's way through Aberdeen city centre before heading to the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital to be greeted by ecstatic children.
2008 was no different and again a huge sum of money was raised to enable us to buy yet more sacks of Toy's, Games, DVD's, CD's and Games Consoles for the Hospital. A cheque for £500 was also presented to the Northsound Cash For Kids Appeal. It's a very humbling experience !
